Troubleshooting

And getting fancy

My yarn keeps breaking!!!

There are two problems that could cause your yarn to break-either there isn't enough twist in the yarn, or it is too thin for the weight of your spindle. Most likely, there isn't enough twist, so try adding more. If it is still breaking, make your yarn a little thicker.

My yarn is lumpy, bumpy, and uneven.

Yep, it probably is! It takes practice to get an even yarn. Watch the point of your drafting triangle and keep a consistent amount of fiber in it. When you do get a "slub" that you don't want, move your pinching hand back below it and let it untwist, stretch it out, and try to spin it again. You'll get the hang of it. Remember that people TRY to get slubs to make fun novelty yarns!

Getting fancy

-Try dying your yarn! Kool-Aid is cheap, non-toxic, and even colorfast on any kind of wool!
-Ply two different colors, thicknesses, or kinds of fiber together.
-Be creative!!
