Guilt…

So, it’s been nearly a year since I attended Denyse’s workshop and was inspired to organize Blockswap. I have one of the charity quilts totally completed, but the other is still just a pile of blocks.

I took these photos of the completed one on a sunny day way back in November. Photographing quilts is so hard!

Here’s the whole thing, but blurry:

Here’s a detail of the front. You can really see the amazing quilting done by Gina of the Quilter’s Buzz and Threaded Pear Studio. The modern swilrs are so perfect. Can you tell?

Gina pieced the back, which is wonderful as well.

We really need to get this thing sold and the donations made. I really apologize for how slow I’ve gone on this. Any suggestions on getting good photos?

  1. This is just a beautiful quilt. Thank you for undertaking this project for us. I have yet to put my patches together, not being sure about what I wanted, but I love the look of the white blocks in between. Really showcases the patched pieces. I hope this process brings you many blessings!

  2. beautiful!
I have taken quite a few photos of my quilts/tops etc..
some of them are at flickr.com ( /http://www.flickr.com/photos/32008351@N00/ ).. the thing is I have found best for me is lots of artificial light sometimes including flash.. camera parallel and centered on quilt. When I started quilting I made a lot of tops for a local charity which I took photos of to remember what I had made since I would never see them again. the photos posted are mostly from the time I was transitioning to focusing on learning to longarm.

  3. Congratulations Jessica – the quilt is so beautiful and gorgeous. Well done to everyone involved it is a really inspiring project.
